Photo Edits

I decided to try something new by editing one of my old photos and adding new backgrounds to it. I chose the colours and patterns based on the dress. I used photoshop and illustrator to create the patterns. I think they add a fun element to the photo.

This simple version definitely puts more emphasis to the dress as I have laid out the image to appear larger and just kept the colours solid without any patterns. Whenever I am designing or doing anything creative, I love to go crazy and then tone it down if needs be. I learned to work like that while I was studying Graphic Design in college. I always kept my designs simple but my lectures wanted me to try new things and if those things didn't work then go back and simplify.

I will definitely be experimenting more on photo edits in future.

Happy editing :)

Sorry for the lack of posts

Hi Guys,

I just want to say sorry for the lack of posts lately. I had not been feeling well for about two weeks and I ignored the pain by putting it down to a flu. It turned out to be more serious then I thought and I had to have a surgical procedure done. The doctors said it will take a few weeks for me to be back to normal. For now, I am bed bound and trying to get myself better. I am determined to get better before that time and be back on my feet.

I can't wait to be back to work, do photo shoots and work on some new fashion projects.

I will keep you posted!

Inspired

This is my first photoshoot of 2014. It was heavily influenced by Beyonce's music video for Flawless as mentioned in previous posts.

In terms of styling, I thought I would go for a slightly different look. I never wear denim shorts and these were from A-Wear. I customised them and I am really happy with the turn out. You can read a step-by-step tutorial in previous posts. The shirt is from Crisis Boutique in Cork City. I love this tartan shirt as the panels of leather  around the shoulders and cuffs give it an edge. I fell in love with the necklace when I first saw it in River Island a few years ago. As you can also see in my previous posts, I am a huge fan of this high street store.

The midi-leather skirt is also from River Island and I bought it during the Christmas sales back in December 2013.

I would love to get your opinions about what you thought of the final shots.

As always....Happy Shopping:)

What I Wore

It was a friend's birthday last night and I just wanted to keep my outfit simple with a feminine twist. So, I decided to go for this blue number that I bought from Penneys. I bought this dress a few years ago for my graduation and I always seem to wear it if there's an event or special occasion but it would be just as nice to wear on a regular night out too. I tend to wear a lot of dark clothing and this colour was a bit of a change for me.

The belt is from River Island and it is such a statement piece. It was quite big when I bought it but I was able to take it in at the back as it's elasticated. If you are looking for statement quirky accessories make sure you visit River Island. It's my go to highstreet shop for any occassion.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend guys :)
